It is an easy-to-use site that collects and organizes information about nearly a quarter of a million animals from over 10,000 adoption groups nation-wide. We have several dogs on staff who have come to us through Petfinder. At right are all Planet Dog pups who found their loving homes through Petfinder. Before you adopt, educate yourself to ensure a happy and romp-filled experience. Here's what we're doing to help encourage adoption
Being sheltered in an unknown place for an indefinite period of time can be very scary and stressful. We wanted dogs who have gone through such an experience to have an opportunity to let their fur down, get lots of love, treats and be the star of the show. We also want to showcase how beautiful, handsome, sweet, lovable, happy, charming and talented these dogs are. Starting in the fall of 2007, all our models will be adopted or rescued dogs.

We honor one PDOG Retailer each year with our Adoption Champion Award. The award goes to the store that has made a significant contribution to the Planet Dog Foundation through their store's sales and who champions adoption through hosting adoption days and fund raising events.
