Planet Dog to be Honored for its Philanthropy at Good Dog Foundation Gala in New York City

Westbrook, ME (April 21, 2016) – Planet Dog is thrilled to announce that it will be honored by The Good Dog Foundation at its 2016 Gala in New York City on May 17th. The award recognizes Planet Dog for “a decade of giving to causes that foster human-canine wellbeing and healing.” The Good Dog Foundation, a previous Planet Dog Foundation grantee, is hosting its 5th Annual Fundraising Gala and Live Auction at Guastavino’s, a noted New York City event venue.
Two-legged and four-legged guests will be treated to a stunning evening in one of New York’s architecturally acclaimed spaces. Award-winning actor Robert Sella, a recent star in the Broadway comedy, SYLVIA, will be the evening’s emcee. Unleashed by Petco will be offering grooming and a doggy bar specially equipped for canine guests.
“It is an honor to celebrate the generosity of Planet Dog which has given so much to strengthen and further the human-animal bond over the past decade,” Rachel McPherson, founder and president of The Good Dog Foundation explains.

The Good Dog Foundation
A nationally recognized leader in animal-assisted therapy, The Good Dog Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to ease human suffering and promote healing among children and adults experiencing trauma from disease, disability, disaster, aging and other stressful conditions.
